dorsum of hands, elbows,  knees<\/p>\n<p>Incidence\/Prevalence: rare<\/p>\n<p>Causes: mechanical trauma<\/p>\n<p>Skin:  large hemorrhagic bullae , milia (little epidermal cysts found in severe  blistering disorders) , inflammatory form resembles bullous pemphigoid<\/p>\n<p>HEENT: oromucosal lesions, no hypertrichosis on face<\/p>\n<p>Rule out:  porphyria cutanea tarda, bullous pemphigoid (Ig at roof) epidermolysis Bullosa  Simplex (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.geneclinics.org\/profiles\/ebs\/\" target=\"_blank\">GeneClinics 1998 Oct 6<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Blood  tests: 25-50% autoAb<\/p>\n<p>Urine  studies: urine tests for PCT negative<\/p>\n<p>Pathology tests: split skin technique &#8211; Ig in upper  dermis (floor of blister), linear band of IgG or C3 at basement membrane zone<\/p>\n<p>Prognosis:resistant to treatment<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mail.google.com\/mail\/?attid=0.1&amp;disp=emb&amp;view=att&amp;th=115d69f7c45abac2\" width=\"12\" height=\"12\" \/>Treatment<\/p>\n<p>Medications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>steroids, dapsone<\/li>\n<li>discussion of cyclosporine in treatment of EBA can be found in    <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/entrez\/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&amp;db=PubMed&amp;list_uids=8945493&amp;dopt=Abstract\" target=\"_blank\">Mayo Clin Proc 1996    Dec;71(12):1182<\/a><\/li>\n<li>no randomized trials identified to guide therapy of epidermolysis    bullosa acquisita;
