This new terminology, however, is inaccurate and ambiguous. There are at least nine different skin disorders fulfilling the criteria of a capillary malformation. Examples include nevus anemicus, cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita, angiokeratoma circumscriptum, and several vascular lesions that, in the author&#8217;s view, do not represent nevi, such as the nuchal or glabellar salmon patch and the cutaneous changes of Rendu-Osler disease. Hence, I propose that we should use \u00abcapillary malformation\u00bb as an umbrella term and not as a name for a specific cutaneous entity.<\/p>\n<p>Hoy en d\u00eda, la designaci\u00f3n de \u00abmalformaci\u00f3n capilar\u00bb es ampliamente utilizado como un nombre moderno para lo que antes se llamaba un nevus flammeus o mancha de vino de Oporto-. Esta nueva terminolog\u00eda, sin embargo, es inexacta y ambigua. Hay por lo menos nueve diferentes trastornos de la piel que cumplen los criterios de una malformaci\u00f3n capilar.
