Spencer,, Hope R. Ferdowsian,, and Neal D. Barnard, Diet and acne: a review of the evidence International Journal of Dermatology 2009, 48, 339\u2013347\u201d, analizan las cinco grandes\u00a0 l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n que se han realizado, todas ellas relacionadas de alguna forma con la alimentaci\u00f3n de los pa\u00edses occidentales, son:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.-\u00a0 Consumo de leche descremada:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El estudio prospectivo de Adebamowo y colaboradores\u00a0\u00a0 encontr\u00f3 asociaci\u00f3n positiva entre el consumo de leche descremada y acn\u00e9, en pacientes de sexo masculino de 9 a 15 a\u00f1os. Asimismo la investigaci\u00f3n de Adebamowo y colaboradores\u00a0 (20) Nurses Health study II concluyo que las mujeres que consumian mas leche en su adolescencia presentaban acne mas severo que los que no lo hacian. (21 , 25)Se plantea que el contenido hormonal de la\u00a0 leche (IGF-1, 5 alfa reductasa y alfa lactabumina) puede afectar la unidad pilosebacea<\/p>\n<p>El consumo de leche estimular\u00eda una mayor secreci\u00f3n de insulina que aumentar\u00eda los niveles de IGF-1 Esto a su vez aumenta los andr\u00f3genos circulantes y la secreci\u00f3n seb\u00e1cea.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.- Consumo de hidratos de carbono refinados con alta carga glic\u00e9mica.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Los hallazgos de Smith et al han demostrado que la dieta con hidratos de carbono con baja carga glic\u00e9mica disminuye las lesiones de acn\u00e9, mientras que los hidratos de carbono con alta carga glic\u00e9mica constituyen un fuerte est\u00edmulo para la secreci\u00f3n de insulina y de IGF-1.<\/p>\n<p>El IGF-1 estimula la hiperqueratosis folicular y la secreci\u00f3n seb\u00e1cea, favoreciendo la patog\u00e9nesis del acn\u00e9 (22,24,26,27,29)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.-\u00a0 Consumo de grasas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En el estudio prospectivo publicado en 1997 (8), se encontr\u00f3 que la ingesta de alta cantidad de grasas saturadas aumenta la concentraci\u00f3n de IGF-1, mientras que la alimentaci\u00f3n con baja grasa y mucha fibra tiende a disminuir la concentraci\u00f3n de IGF-1 y andr\u00f3genos y aumentar la concentraci\u00f3n de SHBG<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.- Composici\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos grasos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La relaci\u00f3n de omega- 6 a omega -3 de \u00e1cidos grasos de la dieta occidental es de 10:1, este omega -6 es un precursor de mediadores inflamatorios que aumentar\u00eda la secreci\u00f3n seb\u00e1cea y los andr\u00f3genos a nivel de la gl\u00e1ndula seb\u00e1cea, favoreciendo el desarrollo de acn\u00e9. Mientras que el omega- 3 ha sido encontrado que disminuye la IGF-1 y previene la hiperqueratinizaci\u00f3n del fol\u00edculo seb\u00e1ceo (11,12)<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.- Chocolate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Los trabajos de Grant, Anderson y Fulton (2,4,5) fueron realizados con una metodolog\u00eda que no puede establecer con una concluyente evidencia que una barra de chocolate puede o no tener alguna influencia en la producci\u00f3n del acne.<\/p>\n<p>Algunas citas Bibliograficas colocadas en forma\u00a0 cronol\u00f3gica de los art\u00edculos publicados sobre Dieta y Acn\u00e9<\/p>\n<p>1956<\/p>\n<p>1.- Bourne JA.
