«dairy products and pubescent acne among 4273 boys. Diet and acne were evaluated using questionnaires filled in by the subjects. Those who consumed large amounts of dairy products had a relative risk of acne of 1.10 for full-cream milk and 1.19 for skimmed milk in relation to those who consumed low amounts of dairy products. The confidence interval was 1.01 in both cases. However, the authors interpreted this weak correlation as significant. High consumption of dairy products could, due to hyperinsulinism and increased levels of somatomedins, affect the production of androgens».
